Male escorts with male clients are a separate market from male escorts with female clients. Different platforms, different conventions, different rates and, largely, different escorts. Treating the two as one market is the commonest mistake made by people entering either.
How it differs
- VolumeThe gay male escort market in Britain is larger and more visible than the market serving women, with more listings in every major city.
- Booking lengthShorter on average. Hour-long bookings are the norm rather than the minimum, and the long dinner date that characterises the market serving women is much less common.
- RatesBroadly similar hourly bands, with more variation at both ends and more competition on price in the larger cities.
- DirectnessEnquiries are more direct and the arrangement is settled faster. Neither market is better mannered than the other; the conventions are simply different.
Orientation on a profile
Directories usually let escorts describe themselves as straight, gay or bisexual, and clients filter on it. The label describes who the escort takes bookings from rather than a statement about his private life, and reading it as the latter causes needless confusion. An escort listed as bisexual takes bookings from both markets; one listed as straight does not.
Screening and safety
The same conventions apply on both sides. A reachable telephone number, a location agreed in advance, and clarity about what is and is not wanted. Hotels remain the easiest neutral ground for a first booking.

The law
Identical in every respect. Nothing in the legislation distinguishes between the sexes of the people involved. Selling is lawful in England, Wales and Scotland; paying is an offence in Northern Ireland; soliciting in a street or public place is an offence throughout Great Britain on both sides. Why search results look the way they do
Male escorts serving women are far outnumbered by those serving men, which is why searching for a male escort in a British city returns mostly the latter. Directories that serve the market for women and couples are usually separate operations, and are the better starting point for a client looking for that.
